We've been having the most wonderful time working with and getting to know our 40 Over 40 women. And not only do we get to spoil these beautiful women and remind them of how incredibly special they are, oftentimes their family joins us toward the end of their session and we are able to create meaningful portraits with their family as well.
Celebrating Therese...
Therese helped me kick off our 40 Over 40 Project by choosing to be our first client who would enjoy this opportunity. A couple of weeks before her magazine-style photoshoot, we met at her house to design her session and choose her outfits and accessories. We chose outfits that best reflected her personality and style while keeping in mind what she wanted to convey in her portraits. She wanted portraits that were fun and casual, some that showed her professional business side, and classy boudoir (not pictured below) as well. The morning of her session, Mary Beth, our uber-talented makeup artist, and I greeted Therese and couldn’t wait to get her session started. The day was full of thoughtful conversation, laughs and a lot of fun creating beautiful portraits that will be appreciated and cherished for generations. To enhance her experience, Therese chose to have Mary Beth stay throughout her session so that she could have her makeup changed to match the vibe of her outfits. Therese’s husband Jake joined us toward the end of her session and we were able to create some beautiful portraits of them as well. It was a lovely way to wrap her session. Once all of their children are home for the summer, we'll add some family portraits to their album.
Following are just a few of the portraits they selected.
There are a lot of awesome attributes wrapped into this one beautiful person. Therese is a wife to a man who adores her. She and her husband have raised three wonderful children. When her youngest was four months old, she joined the Silpada team and successfully built her business over a 12 year period while her kids were in school or sleeping. She's played an integral role in helping colleagues start and grow their businesses. She has volunteered her time to help raise money and resources for several charitable organizations. If you've been to my studio in the past several months, you may have met her because I'm fortunate to say that Therese works with me a couple of days a week! As much as she’s accomplished, her number one job was as a stay-at-home mom. Raising and guiding her children has always been her most important and rewarding career! She's considerate, caring, and kind. Therese is one of the first to ask "How can I help?" She is a friend with listening ears to so many people. She loves to jump on her road or mountain bike and go out for an adventure. And I can't talk about Therese without mentioning her laugh, it’s one of the best you’ve ever heard. It’s infectious!!!
"I have to say, I wasn’t sure I was up for being a 40+ model but after my experience, I want to spread the word and tell all my friends…go for it, you will be happy you did! Being 50+ I decided to treat myself to this experience because I feel more confident than ever before so why not have it documented with amazing portraits! Pam is so wonderful to work with, she makes you feel like a superstar. After our initial meeting, Pam came to my house and we worked together to pick out outfits, shoes, and accessories. I had a nice range from casual to business to formal and even to boudoir. On the day of my photo shoot, I had my makeup done by the amazing and fun makeup artist MaryBeth Dulin. With my makeup done, hair done, and a favorite outfit on…I was ready for the camera. Even though I was a little nervous in front of the camera, Pam was so professional and fun those nerves left immediately. One of the nicest parts was my husband joined me towards the end of my session and we were able to share some time together and get gorgeous pictures of just the two of us, which we haven’t done in years. I am so happy with the amazing professional portraits Pam helped me create. You will enjoy a great time working with Pam and experience the 40 over 40 Project!" ~Therese W.
Therese, thank you so very much for the honor of creating these beautiful portraits with you. You are an amazing woman. I'm honored to know you and grateful to be able to remind you of how beautiful you are. Inside and out. Thanks for you being YOU!
Pam has a love for photography that shows through her work, resulting in breathtaking portraits that have established Pam Long as one of Maryland’s premier storytellers.
