Join us at LaPalapa Grill & Cantina and The Phoenix Upper Main, Tuesday, November 16, 2021, as we help support the lives of people with disabilities.
Our fundraising efforts will benefit The Arc of Howard County and Project SEARCH Howard County. The Arc of Howard County helps people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live full and meaningful lives. This year The Arc of Howard County has reached a milestone – they are celebrating 60 years of providing Residential, Employment, Transportation, Community Integration, Day and Senior Care Services to people in Howard County! Throughout the years I’ve witnessed the dedication, determination, love, and tremendous desire the staff of The Arc and Project SEARCH consistently display for the people they support. And I’ve thoroughly enjoyed meeting the people they serve and I’ve been able to witness firsthand how they benefit from the services and opportunities these organizations provide.
In true community form, when I sat down with Simon Cortes, owner of La Palapa Grill & Cantina, and Mark Hemmis, owner of The Phoenix Upper Main, and asked them about partnering with me on this charitable event, the answer was an immediate YES! They expressed that they’ve both been humbled by the generosity of our community throughout their time on Main Street. “We are proud to give back to the community that has given us so much.” I'm grateful to Simon, Mark, and their staff.
A monumental day of fundraising is planned in Historic Ellicott City. Bring yourself, your coworkers, your families, your neighbors! In addition to a portion of the restaurant sales, we have an afternoon and evening of creative and fun activities planned to raise additional money. You’ll have the chance to win incredible raffle prizes, auction baskets that will astonish you, 50/50 raffle, and you can help post bail to help leaders in the Howard County area (and beyond), get out of “philanthropy slammer. More details about our “Jail and Bail” coming this week…you don’t want to miss it! For those of you who live out of town, or are unable to attend the event, but would still like to help? We got you! We will have a secure, direct link for you to donate online.
We will be adding more info in the coming days - pics of raffle and auction prizes, sponsor info so please follow this page and share with friends.
